I didn’t like a love story to begin with „we met on a dating app“. That’s not sexy. So I even made scenarios up with matches, where and how we could have met. And then life sometimes offers the best script for it.

I was on the S7 home and a gorgeous man caught my eye. I set myself the challenge to be a bit more courageous and just go for it because I wanted to have stories like the following. So this gorgeous man in his plack and white shorts was sitting on one of these 4 seats that are facing each other. He was talking to his friend on the other side that was facing him. So he didn’t look at me. But as luck or whatever was on my side this day, the seat next to him emptied and so I sat next to him, too shy to look directly into his eyes. He was still proving his Spanish with his friend and I just couldn’t figure out a way to talk to him.
A comedy
Well, life handled it for me. There was suddenly a heavy rain pouring down. The windows of the Sbahn were open and with the fast pace of the train, the water came rushing in, pouring directly – yes, of course on me. The eye-candy shorts guy quickly got up and closed the window. I should have just laughed, it was a hilarious situation but I didn’t dare to. He asked me if I was okay. I said yes, wiping the water off my face. I tried to keep the conversation going and talked some jibberish about Spanish. He was charming and super nice.
Beginnings?
That could have been the beginning of a great story. But it was the end of it. Next station they had to get off in a hurry, so I didn’t even catch his name. I thought about printing one of these cheesy handouts that you find on „notes of Berlin“ but I told myself to wake up from my wannabe Hollywood life. I drafted it saying
Hola guapo!
Hablas español?
Then maybe you’re the man I’m looking for.
I always thought these posters were silly, and I always wondered if they worked at all. But as a storyteller, I don’t want to believe that our story ends with you getting off at Ostkreuz.
Yeah, probably not.
